The Peebles Corporation Chosen for $285M Mixed-Use Development in Durham

The Peebles Corporation has been unanimously selected by the Durham City Council as the preferred developer for the redevelopment of the former police HQ at 505 W. Chapel Hill St. This $285.1 million project marks The Peebles Corporation’s first venture in the Triangle area, with a strong focus on addressing Durham’s urgent need for affordable housing. The development will feature 92 affordable units and 288 market-rate residences. These affordable units are designed to serve residents earning 30% and 60% of AMI, ensuring that more Durham residents have access to quality housing.
