Legacy Real Estate pushes resi plan for Miami Beach-owned land

Legacy Real Estate Development is seeking a zoning change to bring 105 apartments to the long-vacant Barclay building at 1940 Park Avenue in Miami Beach's Collins Park neighborhood. The six-story project, designed by Brooks + Scarpa Architects, would preserve parts of the historic structure, restore its lobby, and add neighborhood retail, co-working and fitness space, and a rooftop-style amenity deck with a pool. Most units would be studios and one-bedrooms, with 15 percent set aside for workforce households and seven affordable units for seniors. The proposal heads to the Planning Board on July 7 before going to the City Commission for approval. https://therealdeal.com/miami/2026/06/16/housing-coming-for-historic-miami-beach-site-city-condemned/
